At Visual Conductor, we embrace social responsibility, of harnessing the power of communication design to inform the public, provoke action and change. For the Women's March on Washington, we designed two posters for the movement.
Poster One: Referencing Key & Peele’s Final Obama ‘Anger Translator’ Skit, we paired the quote “I’m watchin' you Pussy Grabber” with an expressive, graphic illustration of Luther, the kick ass translator. Luther, a viral sensation, was popular at the March, often eliciting smirks and photo moments.
The art was created digitally, then re-assembled to foam board, using a printer, cutouts and pasting, which resembled a wheat paste collage. Smaller photocopies were shared with fellow protesters.
Poster Two: Taking Donald Trump’s infamous quote “You’re Fired” from reality show ’The Apprentice’ and reused, in response to Trump’s presidency.
We are humbled and proud to march with the massive number of people that came out to support; the energy was incredibly electric. We will forever remember the Women’s March in Washington D.C. (and around the world) as one of the most unified and powerful movements of our time.
ROLES: Art Direction, Graphic Design.
